Job description: Summary:

Our Landfill Gas Construction division offers a unique work environment that specializes in a wide variety of projects where we are drilling for natural gas on landfills, installing new piping to collect the gas, fusing and welding HDPE pipe -allowing the gas to be transported to the power plant. Your role will be operating and maintaining a drill rig, operate support equipment for drilling operations. The ability to fuse HDPE Pipe and assist the other team members in well completion activities.

Responsibilities:

· Understand environmental and health & safety regulations and perform work in a competent manner in accordance with the regulations.

· Operating Soilmec drill rig.

· Supervise a crew of 2-4 employees.

· Train and mentor new employees.

· Perform system construction activities in a safely and proper manner.

· Repair and maintain vehicles and equipment as required by following basic inspection procedures.

· Perform maintenance on system components to ensure or restore proper operation and compliance.

· Ability to work on slopes: 2:1 and 3:1.

· Work with and around heavy construction equipment and excavations on landfills (all Equipment Operators are expected to be experienced, safe, and efficient operators of heavy construction equipment).

· Maintain, clean, and organize equipment and supplies.

· Candidates will be required to complete project related paperwork neatly, timely, and accurately.

· Travel for extended periods, if necessary. Typically 80-100% of the time.

· Walk long distances, up and down steeply sloped landfills and outdoor terrain.

· Work in extreme (hot and cold) weather conditions safely.

· Provide an aggressive and pro-active approach to client needs.

· Must be available to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary.

· Must be able to effectively communicate with clients and peers.

Requirements:

· The Drill Rig Operator must have a good working knowledge of heavy construction equipment (drill rigs, excavators, dozers, road trucks, etc), survey equipment, pipe fusion equipment & techniques, compacting and materials handling equipment.

· Must have drill rig operating experience. Preferably Soilmec.

· Must be able to diagnose, assess, and repair mechanical failure in a road range of drilling rig, vehicles, and auxiliary equipment.

· Lift a minimum of 50 pounds on a non-consistent basis.

· Must have HDPE Pipe fusion fitting experience.

· Must be familiar with or able to become familiar with general landfill gas and leachate collection system, construction techniques and components.

· Preferably be proficient in the use of the PC, specifically with the Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

· Ability to use professional business documents such as timesheets, dailies, expense reports, emails, etc.

Due to the nature of the position being offered, this offer is contingent upon successful completion of the following:

· A background investigation. Please note that this investigation requires your consent and cooperation.

· You will be required to drive on a regular basis for Company business you must maintain a safe driving record as defined by Tetra Tech’s Vehicle Safety program. This offer of employment is contingent upon successful evaluation of a motor vehicle (MVR) check.

· You will be required to successfully pass a uranalysis drug screen. Tetra Tech Solid Waste East is a zero-tolerance drug and alcohol business as such you will be subject to quarterly random drug screens where allowable by law.

· This offer is also contingent on valid proof of completed OSHA 10 Hour Construction certificate as defined by Tetra Tech

· The job offered to you and its associated essential elements of work, you will be required to pass a comprehensive Medical Examination.
